RopeLab is an introduction to rope access techniques – the methods used to ascend and move safely on ropes in environments such as trees, mountains, industrial structures, caves, and many other places where ropes become your pathway.
During the workshop, participants will learn the basics of rope access, including knot tying, carabiner use, and essential safety principles. Those who feel adventurous can put on a climbing harness and experience a supervised ascent up to 12 metres high using a top-rope belay system.
Expect a playful mix of learning and challenge: slacklines, tree swings, team-building activities, knot-tying and carabiner installation competitions, and engaging talks about ropes, climbing, and life above the ground.
Whether you’re curious about climbing, looking to learn a new skill, or simply want to try something different, RopeLab is a chance to get off the ground and discover what ropes can do.
Mauricijus Prapiestis has been climbing since 2014 and has spent years ascending all kinds of structures and natural formations – from rocks and trees to offshore oil rigs and wind turbines. Through RopeLab, he shares the skills, techniques, and unique experience of moving on ropes, inviting participants to discover the excitement of climbing and the perspective that comes from seeing the world from above.
