Living in Mexico, Lee spends his days drinking and chasing lovers. But he’s far less successful at the latter – to those around him, he’s nothing more than a source of ridicule. He just reeks of desperation. Does Eugene, his latest object of desire, see him the same way? A night of heavy drinking ends in bed, but the distance between the two men seems to remain, if not increase. Looking for a way to bond, Lee decides to take Eugene along on an expedition to find the hallucinogenic yagé – believed to hold healing properties. Perhaps then, they will finally find a sense of togetherness.
