Monikaze (real name Monika Zenkevičiūtė) was born in 1995 in Klaipėda, Lithuania. In 2018, she graduated with a degree in Composition from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. Since then, she has pursued a career as a composer, electronic music producer, and artist. She is signed to the renowned UK record label Moshi Moshi Records and has supported bands such as Algiers, First Hate, and Dopplereffekt.
Monikaze’s music can be described as avant-pop, combining raw and manipulated vocals with a wide range of electronic and acoustic textures. Her sound draws inspiration from genres including IDM, electronica, jazz, and instrumental works by post-minimalist composers.
