There is something ancient and meditative in the meeting of wax, fabric, and flowing colour. In this batik workshop, Raminta – the artist behind Spalvota Saulė – invites you into a slow, tactile creative process where patience and play move side by side.
Batik is a traditional textile art in which patterns are formed through layers of wax and dye. The wax resists the colour, the pigment travels where it can, and the unexpected becomes part of the design. Nothing is rushed. Each layer asks for presence. Each piece carries the trace of your hands, your mood, your moment at Yaga.
Raminta’s teaching style is warm and encouraging, rooted in years of working with colour and community. You’ll be gently introduced to the basics of batik technique and guided through creating your own small textile artwork. No previous experience is needed – only curiosity and a willingness to experiment.
This workshop is a space to slow down, to work with your hands, and to let colour speak in its own language.
