Textile arts | ITCHY FINGERS

Paula (Niezpirksti) is an enthusiastic upcycling artist and community builder from Riga, blending her expertise in fiber and textile arts with a mission to inspire sustainable creativity. ‘Niezpirksti,’ which translates to ‘itchy fingers’ in Latvian, perfectly captures her curiosity and eagerness to explore new crafts—be it crocheting, embroidery, gardening, or learning any skill someone is willing to share.
With a background in natural sciences, Paula finds inspiration in nature’s patterns and solutions, breathing extraordinary new life into ordinary materials. Ripped tights and worn denim will be the stars of this workshop, where participants will transform the overlooked into wearable art or functional pieces, using beginner-friendly upcycling tools and techniques.
Her workshops are a joyful celebration of skill-sharing and creative self-expression. Come with your preloved garments, an open mind, and a desire to create magic from the mundane. All other materials will be provided!
