Somatic movement: control point

We will start the workshop with a somatic shaking exercise designed to release the various tensions that engulf the body and focus on being here and now in a grounded body. Exercise stimulates blood circulation and thus awakens the body, while at the same time helping to focus specifically on physicality and body awareness. This will be followed by two main workshop exercises, ‘Directions’ and ‘Spirals’. The principle of both exercises is to explore how the body moves in space and how we ourselves can move consciously in that body. The goal is to become familiar with the control of the body and to experience a sense of security and pleasure in moving through your conscious body at that point of control. The session ends with a free dance or “jump out” exercise designed to relax and pass on the new information discovered in your own way, celebrating a new acquaintance with your body.
