Multidisciplinary artist Merkys Zebrauskas describes his practice as somewhere between bio and land art and explores communication between humans and other organisms, such as mycelium, plants and moulds.
A self-portrait installation developed from his skin bacteria was exhibited around the Pinegrove area last year. Merkys is currently searching for a human-fungus symbiosis and has planted spores on-site with a plan for Mycelium to develop and… grow a kayak. The result will be unearthed and tested during the event.
