Baltic Mythology: Unraveling the Cycle of Life

Vilius Mingilas, a doctoral student at the Institute of Lithuanian Literature and Folklore, will present an exciting lecture at our upcoming in-person event. He will discuss the concept of life in Baltic mythology, which is centered around an endless cycle of life, death, and rebirth. During the discussion, Vilius will break down this concept into three parts: life, death, and rebirth. He will also explore how the earth is the source of all life and how death is perceived as a gateway to the next life. The lecture will delve into the different ways in which the soul travels after death and the idea of rebirth, where the soul passes through various biological incarnations before returning to a new life. Participants will have an opportunity to engage in a deeper discussion about Baltic mythology and its interpretation of the eternal circle of life.
