This year Yaga festival will traditionally offer visitors an outdoor kindergarten. Its curator Giedrė
Kazėnaitė, an art teacher and theatre enthusiast, will organize children education activities according to
the principles of Waldorf pedagogy:
“First of all I would like to say that the kindergarten will be open every day from 10:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
One interesting fact about it is that there will not be any plastic toys because such things do not promote
creativity after all. Children will be encouraged to make toys from stones, cones, sticks and other natural
materials. These activities will be offered at the open workshops which will also include pottery, drawing
and straw doll-making sessions. We will also take children on a trip to the forest where they will have the
opportunity to learn to recognize tea herbs. Nature will be our source of inspiration and creativity.”
